Aviateca

The Guatemalan carrier is one of the few to feature a cartoon. Looks like you can make this bag happy by feeding it.

Here's the lowdown from Bruce Kelly about this bag: "The story I heard regarding this bag is that it was designed by a bag collector named Jaromal Kral from the Czech Republic and used on his correspondence. An Italian company ripped off the design without giving Jaromal credit and used it as a generic bag. I have met Jaromal and he confirms this story. It's popped up on several airlines-mainly Italian but I had heard it was found on an Aviateca flight also (Aviateca once had a proper bag with name & logo a few years ago, but now as a member of Grupo Taca) uses a generic white-ugh!). I think the bag in question must be classified as a generic, but it sure is a cool design."

This gem is from Barry Day (see Sic-Sac for another). (2001)

It says "Airsickness bag" at the top. They haven't got round to translating it into Spanish yet.

The Yugoslav carrier's logo consists of two As in missionary position.

avioimpex01

Avioimpex

Unlikely name for this Macedonian carrier. The bag features repeated Avioimpex logos -- which look like the traces of a flight through a particularly violent patch of turbulence.

Thanks to Bruce Kelly. (2002)
